A Shout Out To All Those ADs Out Busting Their Butts!

As Ted Welch of York retires as athletic director, we look at the changing roles ADs are now playing.

There was a time when the high school athletic director was a coach (probably football or basketball), definitely a teacher. His or her duties, in addition to the classroom, might include setting up schedules, purchasing uniforms and equipment, and maybe lining the fields.

Parkville High School Receives New Football Scoreboard

Parkville, MD. – Parkville High School received a free scoreboard for the stadium field.  The new, state-of-the-art, energy-efficient board replaced a 20-year-old scoreboard. The scoreboard project started as an agreement between Sports Image® and Parkville High School Athletic Director Jeff Markle.

Following the installation of the scoreboard, Markle thanked Sports Image® franchise owner Sue Taylor. “An attractive, functional, up-to-date scoreboard is a must-needed component for a successful athletic program and it would not have been possible without the help of you and Sports Image®.  As busy as Athletic Directors are today, there was no way I could have put the time and energy into raising the funds necessary for such a project. ” Markle said.

“This is truly a win-win situation for both the school and the sponsor,” said Taylor. “The school receives a quality product and revenue for their athletic department and the sponsor will receive great exposure at the sporting events at the school.”

Sports Image® secured funding through sponsorships from local businesses including Destinations Credit Union, Quail Run Assisted Living, the Woodlands Assisted Living, White Marsh Mall, Jerry’s Chevrolet and Toyota, Mars Supermarket, Gino’s Burgers & Chicken, and ABC Driver Education.

The new scoreboard features ad panels from sponsors.
