Home-Based Franchising Is On the Rise
The franchising industry is the doorway to a world of opportunity. Thousands of franchises offer countless concepts, all with varying startup costs. And while many require a storefront and overhead expenses, a large number of them – ranging from commercial cleaning to dance fitness lessons to windshield repair services – can be operated right from home. Home-based franchises are becoming viable options for business ownership, enabling many new franchisors to grow their businesses more effectively and many more franchisees to get involved in the franchise industry.
The popularity of home-based businesses has been growing for a while now. Home-based entrepreneurship has become so common, in fact, that those running businesses from home have earned their own title, “homepreneurs,” and have become significant pillars in the economy. According to a recent survey conducted by Small Business Success Index and analyzed by Emergent Research, there are currently about 6.6 million home businesses nationwide that generate at least 50 percent of the owner’s household income. These businesses employ over 13 million people; 35 percent of them generate more than $125,000 in revenue, and 8 percent generate more than $500,000.

The John Carroll School Receives A New Baseball Scoreboard
Bel Air, MD – 2012 –Under an agreement with school president, Richard J. O’Hara, Sports Image® provided The John Carroll School with a new scoreboard for their baseball field. Funds for the equipment were secured by Sports Image® through advertising sponsorships. Sue Taylor, Project Manager at Sports Image® secured the advertising sponsorships, handled all contracts, developed artwork, and collected payment for the project. The Sports Image® program did not demand valuable time from the Administration, Athletic Director or school personnel. Major sponsors for the project were Rosedale Federal Savings and Loan, Klein’s Shoprite, The Bel Air Athletic Club, Cook Volkswagon, Huskins Builders, Sandler Training, Gold Medal Physical Therapy, Upper Chesapeake Health and McDonalds.
President O’Hara says, “Sue Taylor was instrumental in creating a successful partnership that led to our scoreboard becoming a reality. Her work was thorough and professional and she was responsive and helpful in addressing questions that arose along the way. We will be happy to work with Sports Image again for future scoreboard projects.”
“Sports Image® and projects like these provide sponsors with a more effective way to reach their target audiences. Sponsors build loyalty and maximize public relations with consumers by making a real connection with their community. It’s a win-win situation for both the school and the sponsor,” said Sue Taylor of Sports Image®.
